About this episode
In this episode, we talk with Dr. Wayne Scales, the J. Byron Maupin Professor of Engineering and founding director of the Center for Space Science and Engineering Research at Virginia Tech. Dr. Scales is a pioneering researcher in the fields of ionospheric physics and plasma simulation. His recent work has focused on dusty space plasma diagnostics using high power radio waves. We hear about the practices of global collaboration in his research, including an initiative to create radar networks in distant places at key latitudes to gather data that make space weather research possible.
