In this episode, we talk with Dr. Peter Vikesland, the Nick Prillaman Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech. Dr. Vikesland’s research involves the application of fundamental chemical principles to the study of natural and engineered systems. Vikesland’s work focuses on nanomaterials in the environment and improved sensors for drinking water treatment in order to develop integrated environmental engineering designs to promote public health. Vikesland is currently working on a project to test wastewater for the presence of the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
