Nina Stark on taking coastal engineering research across borders

In this episode, we talk with Nina Stark about how to involve students in the hands-on, gritty work of coastal engineering research. Dr. Stark has mentored students in the field on projects from Alaska to Australia and studied coastal change in Texas and the Virginia Tidewater region. She also talks about beginning her career (in Germany) and the early experiences with study abroad that shaped her global research and teaching interests. Dr. Stark is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech.
