Member profile:

I was privileged to share my life experiences with people from different cultures around the world during my school and college years from Africa to Asia. I acknowledge inclusion and diversity not only through reading and writing, but also through first-hand experience of inter-cultural community engagement at school and beyond. Professionally, my role as a Process Engineer involved extensive communication with suppliers, clients and mentors from Singapore to Germany.  As I transitioned to academia as an Engineering Education researcher, my focus is on understanding teamwork and leadership dynamics among engineering students. I recognize the importance of effective teamwork and leadership competencies required among global teams. I look forward to understanding student's professional competencies in the United States and beyond. I currently serve as a Treasurer at Council of International Student Organizationd (CISO) at Virginia Tech, which serves all international students. With my personal, academic and professional experiences, I look forward to being a part of the academy to share my knowledge and also learn as I transition into the global space.
