Andrea Schuman

As an engineering education PhD student and researcher, I believe that the best engineers have interpersonal and cross-cultural competencies along with their technical skills. My own undergraduate studies and work took me to Italy and Gabon. As a graduate student, I have worked on research projects with the International Research Experiences for Students program, the Rising Sophomore Abroad program, and the Chemical Engineering department's UO lab abroad. I have also been a track leader for RSAP since 2022. These experiences inform my dissertation work focused on the development of global competencies and consciousness when students are abroad and how these desired outcomes can be achieved in engineering classrooms.
