As an assistant director at the Global Education Office at Virginia Tech, I work most closely with providing opportunities for students to study abroad through curated university exchange partnerships around the world. These partnerships have been developed in close consultation with College of Engineering faculty. I serve as the conduit between the College of Engineering, the partner abroad, and the students who want to participate in these programs.
In order to serve these students who are interested in expanding their understanding of themselves and of the world around them most effectively, I need to work closely with members of the global engineering community to understand how engineering curricula function and to identify where increasing support can lower barriers that students face in making study abroad a reality.
