As a champion of inclusion, equity, and diversity, I strive to make study abroad experiences accessible and equitable for underrepresented students in engineering. I believe that we should all be afforded the opportunity to expand our understanding of the world beyond our borders, especially within the context of engineering. As the field of engineering and the implications of globalization continue to evolve, we have a duty to prepare our students to thrive in this new reality. It is just as much our duty to ensure these opportunities are afforded, accessible, and equitable for all. To date, my research brings the lived experiences of minoritized students in engineering to light through a qualitative and critical perspective with practical implications for the design of global education experiences and the preparation of participating students.
