Virginia Tech is delighted to host the 26th Annual Colloquium on International Engineering Education (ACIEE) at the Hilton Old Town Alexandria in Alexandria, VA on Nov. 2-3, 2023. Organized by Virginia Tech’s Global Engineering, Engagement & Research Office (GEER) and the Academy for Global Engineering. Founded by the International Engineering Program (IEP) at the University of Rhode Island, the purpose of the Annual Colloquium on International Engineering Education is to provide a forum to discuss and share issues and ideas related to the field. The Colloquium provides engineering and language educators, international program administrators, deans, provosts, presidents, industry leaders, public sector representatives and students common ground to talk about educating engineers for today’s global workplace. The colloquium is now accepting abstract submissions under this year's theme Developing the Global Engineering Workforce. Abstract submission is open until 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 21, 2023. Please submit a 300-word abstract, in .doc or .pdf format using this form. Make sure that the file you upload does not include your name or initials. If you have more than one paper, please submit a separate form for each. We are accepting abstracts related to the following themes:

  1. Developing the Global Workforce
  2. Integrating the Humanities into the Engineering Curriculum - Models, Best Practices, Pathways
  3. Institutional Efforts to Incentivize Interdisciplinary Faculty Training and Dialogue
  4. Research on International Engineering Education
  5. Sourcing and Sustaining International Internships and Experiential Learning
  6. Languages for Special Purposes (LSP) - New Approaches
  7. Diversity and Inclusion in Global Engineering Education
  8. Open Theme
